The day that came and went as if all was right
Left behind its dirty footprints in the night,
History swept straight out of the way
As day it turned to night and night back to day,
Bleeding eyes follow in its wake,
Friends and family that it forsakes,
Perfection shown to be all wrong,
No protection given from the storm

It’s hard to see into eyes wide shut,
It’s hard to feel desensitized skin,
He is down on bended knee
Begging to be let in

Feelings were lost as the time went on longer
Cause absence doesn’t make the heart grow fonder,
Souls emptied of their silent joy,
He looks like a man but is really a boy,
Imperfections seen in the cracks,
Unspoken words behind their backs,
Fake smiles shown to cover the pain,
But storm clouds bring with them thunder and rain

Thoughts being lost from an already empty mind
Afraid of leaving, being left behind,
Storm clouds bringing pain with their rain,
Empty eyes remind them again,
Running’s just making things look black,
No time left to turn things back.
